CAFFEEN! for 2012-02-04: “Slightly Worded (i)”

The theme for this month is a bit of a departure from what I normally do. You see, the motto for the show has been (for a long while): “Beautiful, wordless music”. I’ve stuck to that as my guiding mantra, only breaking it by accident when a word or two was included in a 10 minute song.

But there are sometimes works of art by the same composers, musicians and bands which do contain words — not, usually, in the traditional sense of lyrics, but either as conversation around the song’s recording point, a few lyrics drawn out long like they were captured on the edge of an event horizon, or nonsense words used as instruments.

And they’re good. They’re still beautiful, and they still roughly fit what I’m doing here.

So, whenever I encounter these songs that are otherwise perfect but for being “slightly worded”, I set them aside, for that eventual show where they fit.

This is one of them.

This is “Slightly Worded (i)”. Enjoy.
