Ok, this past week was a really nasty one, between being sick for most of it and having lots of extra work to do in various aspects of my being (helping to organize university programming contest, a major business contest presentation to prepare, recordings due). So, no new show this week.

On the radio I’m airing a flashback episode: I pulled an episode of TWS’s predecessor, “Expresso!” from back in March of 2002. I may edit it for podcast, but I’m not sure yet. There are a few songs in it, and it will take a while to pull those out and frankly, I didn’t have the time.

I will be recording a feedback episode this week, however, so you won’t have to wait an entire week for content from me. Although, perhaps you want to, I dunno. (Personally, I listen to so many podcasts that when someone decides to take a break for a week, it’s not a big deal for me — rather, it’s a chance to catch up! )

The annual Barry Awards were held at the radio station (CHSR-FM) where I volunteer. I’ve won a few of these, but I don’t campaign for them. I didn’t win this year (which was expected), but I did actually attend the awards ceremony/gathering, which I’ve never done before. I couldn’t stay long, but because I showed up early I had an opportunity to meet a fan of TWS. At first, I suspected it was a ruse, but he seemed to genuinely know about the show and it’s material.

So, I felt more than awarded for showing up. I was elated. I’ve done this show for a long enough time that I don’t expect feedback, especially not from a local person whom I don’t know directly. I don’t do this show for praise, I do it because the material means something to me, and I want to share that. When someone says to me, “Hey, I heard your show!”, it is very gratifying, because it means that I was able to share it with someone, and that feels good.

Although now the guy got me thinking again about interviewing Stanton Friedman.. I might just do that.
