Well, I’m definitely surprised to learn that The WEIRD Show has been nominated as a finalist in the category of Best Infotainment Podcast for the Parsec Awards. While I may not be able to count on the alien, bigfoot and ghost vote, I’m stunned to have even made it this far.

Others in this category:

• The GeekSpin — A newer podcast which contains the geekiest music on the planet. Good stuff!
• Geologic Podcast — The musical funkster and prominent skeptic is filled with quality. I don’t always like his mocking tones, but they are, at least, quality tones.
• Podculture — “Equal Opportunity Geekness”, covering video games, roleplaying games, cool movies.. I’m new to this one, but I’m interested.
• The Signal — A juggernaut in whatever categories it is nominated in, this is *the* podcast supporting Firefly and Serenity.

So there ya go. I’m in some pretty amazing company there, so I’ve got no illusions about taking home a prize. Still, it’s pretty awesome just to be nominated, and even more awesome(r) to make it to the finalists.

Oh, did I mention that I’m subscribed to *all* of these podcasts?
